Building Department

Overview

The Community Development Department manages the building permitting and inspection functions for the City of Hampton. Permits are required for work that is regulated by the Hampton Building Code and International Building Code (IBC), latest edition.

Once a building permit has been issued, various inspections are required during the construction process. Inspections are scheduled by contacting Wanda Byrd, Development Coordinator (770) 946-4306, ext. 2249. Inspections called in prior to 3:00 pm will be scheduled for the following business day.

The City of Hampton provides Fire Marshall plan review and inspections and contracts with SAFEbuilt for building plan review and inspection services. Plans are submitted to SAFEbuilt through CommunityCore. If you are new to the city's system, Ms. Byrd will assist you with registering in order to access CommunityCore.

If you are already registered in the system, please utilize the link provided below to submit plans, receive notices, and follow the review process.
