"Four Committees, One Vision! Creating an economic environment in the City of Hampton Georgia utilizing our historic downtown where unique and exciting businesses flourish through Historic Preservation and the past has a future. This will all be accomplished through a diverse and inclusive community network, including business owners, residents, leaders, and organizations that bring people together."
Our local Main Street Advisory Board works to implement community activities within the heart of Hampton to promote revitalization and a vibrant downtown district while utilizing the National Main Street Approach, which consists of four key points. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the historic charm and integrity of the community.
Promotions: To provide enhanced quality of life through festivals, art, and entertainment for our residents & visitors.
Economic Vitality: To help stimulate downtown growth through increased business recruitment, retention and expansion by converting vacant spaces into productive property.
Organization: To revitalize downtown through community partnerships and local initiatives that work to increase the support of small businesses, encourage tourism, and preserve our historic districts.
Design: To create a safe, visually appealing, and inviting environment within the Main Street District.
The state-wide Main Street Program is overseen by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The Hampton Main Street Program works closely with the Hampton Downtown Development Authority and the Hampton Historic Preservation Commission to develop a vision and an action plan for the revitalization of the Main Street District.
