Building Inspections

It is the function of the Inspection Division of the Community Development Department to ensure permitted projects are constructed in a safe manner adhering to the minimum building codes adopted by the City of Hampton and the State of Georgia.

The following inspections are required for new construction projects:

•Temporary pole (t-pole)

• Sub-slab

• Footing/slab

• House Sheathing

• House Wrap

• Rough-in Framing – Plumbing, electrical, gas, and mechanical

• Insulation

• Building sewer

• Permanent electrical service

• Final acceptance and issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy

After all inspections are completed successfully and a foundation survey, termite letter along with your erosion release has been submitted a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued. No building shall be occupied without a Certificate of Occupancy.
